THE PROBLEM: People with Type 1 diabetes struggle to travel over long distances while keeping their insulin cool. Current solutions are clunky and only passively cool their medication. Check out our product demo below to see how we solved it ↓ (this product was not associated with Medtronic)

Our product demo

Over the course of two terms, I worked in a team of 4 to imagine a new way for people with Type 1 diabetes to carry insulin. we conducted user research, ideated, prototyped, tested and produced a novel thermal packaging product called ThermoMate. It allows user to keep insulin cool in one compartment, while heating up food in another compartment.

OUR PROCESS: Our team worked to identify similar products on the market and identify user pain points with these existing solutions. We then conducted thorough user research through surveys and interviews before iteratively prototyping through 10 designs.
